About the Speakers:
Hazel Tang – Speaker
Hazel Tang is the Counsel in charge of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) International Court of Arbitration case management team in Singapore.
Before that, Hazel was the Centre Director of the Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC), an arbitrator, and an accredited mediator in Singapore and Shanghai.
Hazel was also a Partner with a leading Singapore law firm with a regional presence and was based in China for a period of time. Hazel’s experience covers a wide range of contentious and non-contentious work in the construction and infrastructure industry, and she has effectively represented clients in international arbitration, litigation, adjudication and mediation proceedings.
Margaret Joan Ling – Speaker
Margaret regularly advises and acts for multinational corporations in domestic and international arbitrations. In addition, she has substantial experience regarding the enforcement and setting aside of international arbitral awards.
Margaret has experience as sole arbitrator. She was also a Council Member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and is the subject editor (arbitration) for the SAL (Singapore Academy of Law) Practitioner. She is also part of the Core Committee of the ICC Arbitration Group in Singapore.
Apart from arbitration-related matters, Margaret has appeared in cases before the Singapore International Commercial Court, Singapore High Court and Court of Appeal. She has also been appointed amicus curiae under the Supreme Court’s inaugural Young Amicus Curiae Scheme
Vivekananda N. – Speaker
Vivek’s areas of practice are international arbitration and cross-border dispute resolution, with a focus on India.
Vivek regularly acts as counsel on international arbitrations conducted in Singapore under various institutional rules. He has considerable experience with acting on commercial arbitrations, emergency arbitrator proceedings, expedited procedure arbitrations, and advising on arbitral award challenge and enforcement actions in Singapore. Vivek also acts as an arbitrator and has been appointed to three-member and sole arbitrator tribunals. Vivek is recommended as a “name to note for India-related arbitration” by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific.
Vivek is a member of the Reserve Panel of Arbitrators of the SIAC and is a regional representative of the International Chamber of Commerce Young Arbitrators Forum Committee for South-east Asia.
