Singapore's Dedicated Social & Live Commerce Committee
As Social and Live Commerce rapidly reshapes the way businesses reach consumers, build brands and generate sales, the Association of Trade and Commerce (ATC) has established Singapore's first dedicated Social & Live Commerce Committee within a business association.
The establishment of the Committee marks an important step in providing the sector with a dedicated industry platform — bringing together businesses, livestream practitioners, creators, platforms, agencies, technology providers and other ecosystem stakeholders.
As part of the Committee's industry engagement, ATC is convening the Social & Live Commerce Industry Roundtable to bring the voices of the sector together.
This is not simply a discussion about where Social and Live Commerce is heading.
It is an opportunity for the industry to collectively identify what it needs next.
About the Industry Roundtable
Social Commerce has evolved beyond social media marketing.
Today, businesses are selling directly through social platforms, creators are becoming commercial partners, livestream hosts are emerging as a new category of talent, and technology is transforming how products are presented, discovered and purchased.
The growth of livestream commerce is also creating entirely new roles and business models across Singapore.
Yet, as the sector grows, important questions remain.
What challenges are businesses and livestream operators facing on the ground?
How can Singapore develop a stronger pipeline of livestream and Social Commerce talent?
What industry practices can strengthen consumer confidence?
What support do SMEs need to participate effectively?
How should businesses, creators, platforms and service providers work together?
And what needs to be done for Singapore to build a sustainable and competitive Social and Live Commerce ecosystem?
ATC Social & Live Commerce Industry Roundtable will bring industry stakeholders together for an open and focused discussion on these questions.
Bringing the Industry Around One Table
The roundtable is designed as an industry dialogue rather than a seminar.
We want to hear directly from the people operating within the ecosystem.
Participants will be invited to share their experiences, identify common industry challenges, discuss emerging opportunities and contribute perspectives on areas where greater industry collaboration, capability development or representation may be required.
The discussions will contribute towards the ongoing work and priorities of the ATC Social & Live Commerce Committee.

What This Roundtable Aims to Achieve
The establishment of the ATC Social & Live Commerce Committee provides the industry with a dedicated platform through which common issues can be surfaced, ideas can be exchanged and opportunities for collaboration can be developed.
Through this roundtable, ATC seeks to:
- Hear directly from businesses and practitioners on the ground;
- Identify common challenges affecting the development of the sector;
- Understand capability and workforce gaps;
- Identify areas where industry collaboration can create greater impact;
- Strengthen connections between different parts of the ecosystem;
- Surface matters requiring further industry engagement or representation;
- Explore initiatives that can support responsible and sustainable industry development; and
- Shape the priorities and future work of the ATC Social & Live Commerce Committee.
The insights from the roundtable will serve as an important input into the Committee's ongoing industry engagement and work.
An Emerging Industry. A Dedicated Industry Voice.
Social and Live Commerce sits at the intersection of retail, technology, content, entrepreneurship and the creator economy.
As the sector continues to grow, its development should not take place in silos.
By establishing Singapore's first dedicated Social & Live Commerce Committee within a business / trade association, ATC seeks to create a common platform where the different stakeholders shaping this emerging sector can come together.
The Industry Roundtable is part of that journey.
If you are building, selling, creating, livestreaming, enabling or supporting Social and Live Commerce in Singapore, we want you at the table.
